Augment Partnership CIC

Article

Augment partnership has a mission to resource people, place and programmes in order to grow thriving communities.

It was started by Peter Smith with his wife Ella with the intention to create beautiful, quiet spaces where people could work, train and grow as a community.

Social Entrepreneur

They are offering business training for young people and start-ups because as Peter Smith says “it takes many skills to run a business, some of which you might not have realised you needed”. He considers himself a social entrepreneur because he wants to see individuals grow and communities thrive.

As many of us begin to return to our work and businesses, we will be discovering just how much of an impact the Covid-19 pandemic has caused and is still having. It is unsurprising then that Peter and his wife Ella are focusing on people in employment and are hoping to get back into work by providing great productive hubs.

Faith Based Ethos

These community workspaces come alongside support in wellbeing, training and mentoring. They are supported by a positive community and a faith based ethos. Getting back into ‘reality’ can be daunting at times but with a work hub like augment you’ll be able to ease into your work life and be surrounded by like-minded individuals.

The first Augment Community Workspace has been created in Skipton, Yorkshire. The building they have refurbished is now modern and airy and offers rental from as little as two hours, two days, two weeks … or months according to your needs.

Fabulous space

This fabulous space provides everything you might need to work or run workshops. It is fully fitted out for your working needs whether it is provision for hot desking, space to do training or tea and coffee making facilities.

Whether you are upscaling, downscaling, starting-up or running pop up events the high quality finish will suit. Look out for a PHHPA event here soon!

This is very timely as we come out of lockdown as school leavers looking for their first jobs, people who have been made redundant and those still facing the prospect of redundancy and those who have realised during the past year that it is time to move onto pastures new will all be needing to upskill.

According to Peter there is a massive shortage of digital skills and this is one of the gaps that Augment are hoping to bridge. His own 30 year career as a chartered surveyor saw him finally retire as a Leeds Director with Avison Young in 2017.

Always proactive though this is only the latest in a long list of community projects which he has worked on. Peter Smith is therefore perfectly positioned to offer high quality training, advice and support to individuals and communities and is connected with many specialists and professionals who will also be working with him.

We at the PHHPA would like to extend our warmest welcome to Augment, Peter and Ella Smith and look forward to a bright future.
